The city of Krakow is a special place for many reasons, but it can be hard to know where you should go and what attractions are worth visiting. Luckily, we have created this list with some must-see from this city! You’ll see important places – from historic old town all the way through Wawel Castle.

Places in Krakow

Krakow is one of the oldest Polish cities. It has an amazing history and an unforgettable atmosphere. Therefore, it is a must-see on the map of Poland. If you are visiting this country, you must see Krakow! Read this article and know more!

Old Town

If you want to experience the best of Krakow, your first stop should be its Old Town. This oldest and most famous part is inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List as such, making it a cool site not just for tourists but also locals alike! This city is active almost around the clock: 24/7 in any given period. You can visit Krakow for summer or for winter – every period of time is good.

Wawel Castle

The Royal Crypts at Wawel Castle is a site of great importance in Polish history. It’s where several coronations, funerals, and burials for Poland’s royalty have taken place over the centuries; it has been the third church consecrated here since 1364. Wawel is very popular and we can say that this is a real showcase for this city.

Colorful stairs

Colorful Stairs in the Podgórze district is an element of Krakow’s street art, which combines brightening and cheering up public space as well as wise quotes by famous figures such like Ghandi or Marquez. Fifty-five degrees in Colors Of The Rainbow was created during Art Boom Festival 2013 located at Tatrzańska Street at height number 5.

St. Mary’s Church

The most famous church in Cracow, the symbol of the city. Inside there is an altar by Wit Stwosz and to see it from close up, you have yourselves enter through a side entrance on Mary’s Square where all other buildings end. Each day we can listen to this beautiful melody called Hejnal plays out over top for your ears only! I also recommend going inside onto higher ground if possible. You can see the city from this view and it’s wonderful.

Smok Wawelski (The Wawel Dragon)

One of the most famous symbols in Krakow is Smok Wawelski. It can be found beneath Wawel hill, where legend tells that a magic creature dwells – either inside or outside its smokey enclosure. This is a symbol of town, maybe even all country. Significant to visit, especially with children. We provide you things to do in Krakow, which make this time unforgotten.
