Developing a false sense of what is going on can put fellow workers in danger when unnecessary risks are taken.
  • Amphetamines increase alertness and energy and can be addictive. They are often used to treat ADHD, but can also be abused. When someone is suspected of abusing amphetamines, a drug test may be administered.
  • Heroin is commonly tested for and is considered very addictive. Its effects can be dangerous. For these reasons, employers and educators need to be able to identify heroin use and take steps to prevent its spread.

The key to drug testing is to detect when non-prescription drugs are being taken and abused, and with a disregard for their effects on everyone. The name of the game is protection when it comes to the responsibility those in charge have in respect of those they employ or teach.

Employee or Student Requirements

As well, fellow employees or students can be protected and feel safer knowing that drug testing procedures are in place to uphold health and safety. Drug testing is generally something that should be welcomed.
